Eschewing the fantasy elements and graphic content that marks many anime series HUMAN CROSSING instead concentrates on an examination of the human condition in regular everyday life. Using a naturalistic animation style each episode presents different characters and a new situation to better explore a particular theme. VOLUME FOUR: THE INSTRUCTOR'S RAIN contains the last three episodes of the anthology. In "Whispers" an old man helps a boy with his bully problem; "The Instructor's Rain" concerns a teacher who assists a particularly difficult student; and finally "The Watershed" is about a bartender who murders her husband. HUMAN CROSSING is a naturalistic dramatic anime series that rejects genre to examine the quotidian.
