Based on a popular manga the fantasy anime series DNANGEL adds a supernatural twist to its coming-of-age saga of teenage love and alienation. Daisuke is a normal adolescent boy until his 14th birthday triggers a dormant family gene that transforms him into a master thief named Phantom Dark whenever he's in the presence of a girl he likes. In addition to severely cramping his social life the teen's metamorphosis is exploited by his mother who uses Daisuke's alter ego for her own nefarious purposes.
