Based on a popular Japanese video game DIAMOND DAYDREAMS is an ennui-laced anime series about the vicissitudes of modern love. Created by Oiji Hiroi (SAKURA WARS) directed by Bob Shirohata (GRAVITATION) and animated by Studio Deen (FRUITS BASKET) the well-pedigreed anime follows the unrelated tales of six lovelorn women during one particularly snowy winter on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. This four-episode volume kicks off the series with the stories of the first two women: Atsuko a quiet young woman who is slated for an arranged marriage; and Karin a terminally ill girl who falls in love with the doctor who is treating her.
