BOOGIEPOP AND OTHERS is a live-action prequel to the timebending horror anime series BOOGIEPOP PHANTOM which followed a teenage schoolgirl as she investigated the disappearances of several of her classmates only to find mysterious connections to events that happened five years earlier. Directed by Ryu Kaneda (VIDEO GIRL AI) with design work by Sadayuki Murai (PERFECT BLUE) this prequel offers a satisfying dramatization of those previous events--including a rash of unsolved serial murders a simultaneous beam of light that hovers over the city and a cloaked young woman who may or may not be the angel of death--for an innovative and atmospheric horror film that oozes supernatural menace.
